Smoking and the Effect on Children
Children are still undergoing growth and development both physically and mentally and in line with this they tend to have an increased breathing rate which means that their lungs take in higher levels of the toxins that are present in air filled with cigarette smoke. The effects of smoking are more pronounced when the child is still in the womb and that is why many pregnant women are asked to quit smoking at the time.
